So we went on this little trip to St. John's. If you are unfamiliar with that island it is part of the US Virgin Islands. We flew to St. Thomas and then took a ferry to St. John. Our entire intent was to lay low and relax. Well Sara did a great job, as usual, picking our accommodations. We had a house over looking Kiddle Bay on the south side of the island. Since most of the attraction are on the north we had a peaceful time. Now we didn't just sit around...well some of the time...check it out.

Trunk Bay we looked at from a higher vantage point. This is a highly populated tourist spot that we wanted nothing to do with.

One morning we attempted to hike the Reef Bay Trail. It was a 2.1 mile down hill trail with a side trail to the petroglyphs. Well Sara coludn't make it very far, so this was our last big hike on this trip :)

This is our first snorking attempt on the north side of the island. I've got to admit it was really clear and loaded with fish.

The is one of the most spectacular views on the island near Bordeaux Mountain pass. It was one of the first pulloffs we found on the island.

On the third day of our trip we decided to take a driving tour of the island. And we found some great views...enjoy!

We took a short walk on a trail near the Lameshur Bay Trail. I can't remember the name and it is not on any maps. The crabs were in migration mode down to the beach and there were a ton of them. We found out about this trail from a couple that lives down the road from the house we were staying...that couple has a phrase for all the people who don't live on the island, TPB, those poor bastards...:)

After our attemp to hike the Reef Bay Trail, Sara was not allowed to go anymore. I, on the other hand snuck out for small hikes like this on on Yawzi point Trail. It was a short .8 of a mile out but a stunning view at the Point. I also saw a 6 ft iguana that was quicker than my camera...next time

One of our dinner stops was Miss Lucy's Restaurant. All the tables are situated under big beautiful Magnolia looking trees overlooking Friis Bay. The picture did not turn out a good as I had hoped.

Kiddel Bay was the bay we woke up to every morning. We had this view from our back porch. We could walk down to the rock beach, swim, snorkel or investigate the caves nearby. If you every want to stay on St. John’s Island I highly recommend this spot. You will not be disappointed.

Cruz Bay was the port for travel from St. Thomas to St. John. It was a popular spot for tourists with hotels, villas, shops, restaurants and many options for tours of the island. Sara and I didn't spend any time there so the only pictures I have are boating in and out..
